With a digital product you have few overhead expenses. You might have initial expenses while you’re developing your product but from that point on you can sell as many copies as you like with no need to pay for cost of manufacture or delivery.

I did an experiment with a brick and mortar mattress shop for 2 years. Dealing with cost of inventory almost drove me mental. That was the biggest reason I shifted back to 100% focus on digital products in 2015.

Although I loved having a store, and really enjoyed the interaction with the community, having a profitable store front was nice, but humping mattresses off a delivery truck every week sucked. Then finding a place to fit all that inventory was a headache.

Just because it WAS a profitable business, didn’t mean it was worth that much of my time to run business when I could make so much more working less hours selling digital products 24 hours a day.

With little overhead, there’s very little investment necessary.

A few bucks in upfront investment means a much faster tipping point and you start generating profit quickly.
