Archive for php

On last night’s webinar there were a few questions about tracking with prepop pages. It is a little tricky but I put together an example of how to do it along with a downloadable package with all the example php code.

There’s instructions on how to use it in the .zip as well but I’ll go over it briefly here as well.

With this example you pass through your keyword/url to the “sub” query string variable. This form saves it in a session and presents the user your landing page. Once the user enters their email address and submits the form, the php builds the rest of the affiliate link with the subid and email address included and forwards the user to the prepopped page.

I tried to make this as easy as possible. This example uses a market leverage home depot offer and ML’s email variable is conveniently named “email”. Change this in the top of the PHP if your network uses a different email variable name.

Here’s a working example of the code included in the download prepop.zip

Hope this helps you guys. Let me know if you have any questions.

New Video – Offer / URL Rotator for PHP

Posted by: Corey | Comments (1)

There is a new video about the URL Rotator, that shows in great detail exactly how to use AffPortal’s offer rotator when to rotate the affiliate links that you send your traffic to. This is very useful, and I use it every day, to rotate through the offers I send PPV or PPC traffic to. The point of this is to quickly find out which offers are converting for what traffic and which keywords.

This rotator supports subId tracking and will easily pass your subIds from your destination url, to you landing page, to the rotator and then to the affiliate offer so you can pull your commission reports and see what’s converting for which keywords or URLS in the case of PPV.

You can download the rotator.php file inside the downloads area along with the offer.php script that you can use to cloak your affiliate links.

Both of these files can be used for direct linking as well as when using a landing page or mini site.

Fire off any questions you have about the rotator and I’ll be happy to help you out… as long as you watch the URL Rotator video first b/c that explains EXACTLY how those scripts work.
