New PPV Network Update 11/25/09
Posted by: | Comments<updated 11/26/09>
I talked to my friend Matt, owner of the up and coming PPV network, and he said that we would be good to go on Friday morning so keep an eye out for the email to the AffPortal users list.
Here’s some more information about the new PPV network and some very interesting details.
- AffPortal.com members now have an exclusive access package, unavailable to anyone else.
- This network is so new that the owner can name his advertisers off the top of his head which means there’s tons of traffic with very little competition.
- This network is partnering with traffic sources so quickly that they have gone from 30 dedicated servers to 60 dedicated servers to deliver popups in about 4 weeks.
- They currently handle over 4000 queries per second.
- When you register, use promo code “AffPortal” and your campaigns will automatically go to the PPV side of their ad inventory and you will get $50 in free pops.
- In mid December you will have access to TRUE fraction bidding. This means that you can buy ppv popups for as low as .005 cents per pop.
- They allow frame resizing, self starting video, embedded talking heads AND they approve exit pops… are you kidding me!
I’ll keep posting about details as I get them.

URL Scraper – with sicko keyword import functionality
Posted by: | CommentsFirst off, the best URL Scraper, AFFPORTAL.com is now in Clickbank… so go grab a link and take part in the 50% recurring commissions on a “rebill that doesn’t suck” (j.dupre). I have added some creatives on the affiliate page WITH the photoshop source files included in the download so you can chop and hack these banners into well converting “traffic getters”.
Now on to the good stuff.
So what do you get when a keyword generator crashes into a url scraper?
You get the AffPortal.com URL Scraper with the new import functionality… First you will go to the keyword suggestion tool and grab a bunch of keywords. Then IMPORT them directly into the url scraper and field dress the search engines, spilling their urls into your campaign to start generating some traffic…
Check out the video (WARNING: I did this video at like 4 AM when I finished this tool up and I sound like I twisted up a fattie afterward but I didn’t)
Two New User Requested PPV Tools Added
Posted by: | CommentsOne member out at PPV Formula (also an AP member) and one AffPortal member requested two tools that coded up last night and added as a Beta to the PPV tools area.
- Site Extractor – This is a URL Scraper tool that pulls all urls for a given domain from the google index when supplied with a batch of unique domain urls
- URL Shrink – kind of does the opposite of the Site Extractor PPV tools, in that when you give it a list of URLs, it pulls the DISTINCT domains from the scraped URL list. This tool also allows you to truncate very long urls to a max of 40 characters as required by Media Traffic.
So go beat on these new PPV tools a little and let me know what you think. If you are able to break them let me know how to recreate your actions.
Any additional info you supply to me about these PPV tools the better they will become.
Go get some!

Micro Review popups for PPV
Posted by: | CommentsAfter my PPV webinar last night at PPC Classroom I had an idea that I’m going to be testing out for my next PPV campaign. It started when I was going through some of my old template folders and came across a few interesting review site templates that might just work for Pay Per View popups.
Using a review style landing page for the destination url on my PPV campaigns is something I have not tried yet but the idea had me awake last night, staring at the ceiling, excited to throw up some tests. I know this is a technique I have not read about for PPV and could be promising.
Working with a 750 x 600 window does present some challenges with this idea b/c obviously the area “above the fold” is so small. I think to overcome this, a combination of smaller fonts, smaller images and some instant audio might just be enough to grab the gamevance lovers by their hairy eyeballs and get them to click through for more information.
Whether this idea has some merit is still to be seen but it is no doubt worth testing. The next step for this code monkey is automating it and building out an LPGen type of tool for AffPortal. Looks like this weekend’s sleeping hours are going to be replaced with a couple of blue monster drinks and a whole lot of asp.net. Love it…
